My daughter Alex Rowe is only 10 but a good rider (rode at the Nationals in 2009) and has been looking for a 14.2 dressage pony to take her to advanced movements. We looked at over 30 horses in UK and Germany and after a long search eventually discovered Rufus. As he is by Renoir and produced carefully by Fran Walker, he is a very talented dressage pony and has proven a winner in his first summer out, winning two Preliminary classes in Under 21 championships in Addington in July and coming Reserve Champion! He is very trainable, loves to work and has a very lovable nature. Rufus is a great credit to Fran and her method of training and we found it quite straightforward to build on what Fran has taught Rufus already. We are looking forward to moving to Novice this year and doing some Freestyle as he seems to like his music

Eva Pascoe.

I cannot recommend Blackington stud enough if you are wanting to buy or breed sports ponies for children.

Juliet and Francesca are both passionate and very knowledgeable having been through the process of riding for pony teams, they can help you look for the right pony and put you in touch with the best breeders.

Having bought Maisie's first sport pony from Juliet and Francesca, we have kept in contact and they have been a constant support to us in our journey with Maisie and her ponies.

We came to Juliet and Fran when we were looking for a young pony as a potential FEI pony for our daughter.  They listened very carefully to our requirements and were able to find several lovely ponies for us to look at and Fran personally oversaw the selection,  knowing the requirements for ponies aiming at this level.  Juliet helped us with our travel arrangements and hotels which took the pressure off.   We are thrilled with the pony we bought, he is a wonderful character, loved by everyone he meets and has been produced slowly with the aim of bringing him out at FEI next year. I would go to them in future and was impressed with the selection of home bred ponies they have

We are delighted to welcome the Blackington stud's Brandini into our family. We were looking for a top class dressage pony for our daughter, Clare. Juliet and Fran have an understanding of what is required of the modern dressage pony and have carefully selected bloodlines and correctly produced Brandini to a high standard. They thoughtfully assess the potential partnership  and aim to place their ponies in homes where the Blackington name can flourish. I have nothing but praise for the care and attention they gave to us when we were looking for a pony, we are absolutely thrilled with him!
