Desiree's sire Dornik B |
Desiree was purchased from the home of her sire Dornik B, Gestuet Boenniger, in 2008. Her bloodlines are some of the most sought-after in German Riding Pony breeding. During her time as a broodmare at Gestuet Boenniger she produced many successful riding ponies, including the stallion White Socks B (by White Gold B) who is now competing in Holland. The foals she has produced so far here at Blackington Stud all have fantastic temperaments and great paces. Her eldest daughter, BKS Giselle (by Genesis B), who won a gold medal at her foal show, is just starting her ridden career and proved extremely easy to back. We have high hopes for all her children in the competition arena. Her sire, Dornik B, is one of the most successful breeding stallions and sports ponies of all time. He was Bundeschampion each year from 1994 - 1997. He won European Championship Team Gold eight times between 2000 and 2008, and became Individual European Champion four times in 2000, 2001, 2004 and 2007 (winning individual Bronze in 2002 and Silver in 2006). He has produced more than 16 licensed sons and over 27 State Premium daughters. He is also the sire of several Bundeschampions and European Gold medallists. Desiree's damsire, Valentino, is one of the founding fathers of the German Riding
Pony breed. His impact on the formation of the breed should not be underestimated
and will surely never be surpassed. He is found in the pedigrees of many of the most
successful sport and breeding ponies in Europe, including Dornik B, Golden Dancer,
Dressman, FS Don't Worry and FS Champion de Luxe. Bred in Britain in 1972, he was
imported to Germany in 1974 by Hans-Georg Bönniger, founder of one of the great pony
studs, Gestüt Bönniger, and breeder of the 'B' line ponies. There he produced over
22 licensed sons and many State Premium daughters.
