News from the McDowall family that Grand Design has been sold to a new home. Hopefully we will see him out and about again competing once the new pair have established a good partnership. Sad day for Charlotte and Ted as they have had a fantastic few years together and have had the most amazing partnership. Sadly, a chance to compete together at the Europeans was foregone as Charlotte had outgrown Ted and was concentrating her efforts on another team pony this year. However, Ted and she finished well with wins at medium of 74.8 and 75.7 on 19th August. Our best wishes go to Charlotte as she looks for a Juniors horse. Hopefully Ted will teach his new rider everything he knows and get them on the right track for a great future.[...]

Tilly is sold to our great friend Christiane Seelig. Tilly is one of the best ponies we have bred and a very exciting prospect. Tilly was sent to Christiane to prepare, but Christiane has now bought Tilly as a broodmare to go with another champion mare she's just purchased. Exciting for us that she can now be put to pony stallions we cannot get here in the UK and some we have wanted to use for some years. We are looking forward to some more great foals and great ridden ponies from our own lines.[...]

Fabulous, unbelievable result yesterday for our amazing gelding Coolio who won through three rounds of competition in Warendorf to claim the massively coveted prize of Bundeschampion of the 4 year old mares and geldings riding ponies. Superb scores (8.9 in the first round - the highest score of the day throughout the ridden classes) and a wonderful ride from Christiane Seelig in all phases. We believe that this is a first for british breeding and fulfills a dream we have had for the past 9 years. We have made the journey to Warendorf most years and had the pleasure of watching a pony we also bred compete here twice, but to have one we bred and still own win has been the crowning achievement and a dream come true. Keeping in touch with the owners of our sold ponies we are always delighted to hear and share in their ups and downs. Recent successes reported from BKS Grand Design and BKS Brandini, both of whom are out competing with pony riders, first and second placings in good sized classes and improvements still expected. Max had a wonderful end to 2014 with a special award from U21s UK. Digby goes from strength to strength, and Oscar has settled into his new home very well. The worst news from Germany today. Delta has not been well for a few days and was admitted to the vet clinic with a suspected colic. Unfortunately she could not be saved. We are devastated to lose such a lovely young mare who has had four wonderful foals and was such a fabulous mother.[...]

Now in Germany for the mare performance tests, Giselle was awarded Verbands Premium in Rheinland Pfalz, and having qualified for the championship, she competed and was awarded State Premium status on 31st August 2013. She now will go to the Performance tests in September. She is under saddle and is proving to be uncomplicated, willing and safe for the smallest child.
